Last day in Dubai

Well we took it easy for the morning and made sure everything was packed and ready to go. Checked out of the motel at 3pm (late checkout) and got them to store our bags for us while we waited to be picked up for the desert safari, which didn't take long.

This was definitely a great experience. 4 Wheel driving through the sand dunes in the desert makes the ones in muriwai seem like speed bumps ;) We went about an hour or so out of town right into the middle of the desert. Unfortunately the dusty haze was still around out there too so the photos may now come out all that well. Did a whole lot of "dune bashing" as they call it, which was awesome. Even mum couldn't get enough! After that we checked out a camel farm then went onto a little village in the dessert. This village was obviously made for tourists, but still gave a vague authentic experience into some of the Arabian culture. We spent the rest of the evening there which included many things including a bbq buffet dinner, arabic coffee or tea, photo's in the clothing they wear over here, and a belly dancer (which happened to be from romania, but hey ;) It all finished about 8:30pm and then there was an hours drive back to the hotel. Right after that we were off to the airport to catch our plane to London at 1:40am. Who needs sleep right?

So after another 7.5hr flight, we have arrived safely in London and are now at Chris and Aimee's house. What a relief. Feeling pretty tired after that but today we get to relax as tomorrow we are off to Brudges. Chris picked us up from the airport which was a nice surprise. I would think things may have been difficult on the tube due to the G20 world leaders summit happening in central London. It's pretty much in lockdown there. Haven't seen Aimee or Matt yet as its only 10:25am here. We've been up for a good 30+ hours now so tonights sleep will be welcomed. I will get some photo's up soon for you all to see how good we look in traditional Islamic attire ;)

Talk soon!
